New Book Under Contract

CSS Publishing released two of my other books, Living Parables and Five Little Christmas Plays and we have now signed a contract for a third book. During my time in active pastoral ministry, I tried my best to produce interesting, quality sermons. I struck out several times but also hit a few home runs. I didn't get better until I quit using tired, old formulas and settled into messages that stayed within the story of the gospel account. I developed a style that told the story and attempted to make the congregation see the story as well. I wanted us all to live it. I wanted people to see, in their minds, the story as it unfolded. That is the basis for my collection of sermons. Tentative title for the book is Imagining the Gospels but I also like Stay In the Story. This book will be released in 2017 for the 2018 Easter Lectionary calendar.
